Round One of the SaddlerySales.com Grand Prix Horse of the Year - Pittsworth.

The Pittsworth Show has some of the best prize money on offer and was certainly worth getting some gear muddy for.  The Grand Prix Class had only five starters.  Graeme Watts built a small simple track which still took some jumping as the grounds at that stage made for some very heavy going.

Clem Smith & Dark Ages opted to only start in the first round as not wanting to injury his horse prior to leaving for New Zealand next week & was placed 5^th. 

The other four combinations went on to the second round with Jamie Raymont & Oz Lotto the 2009 Newcomer Horse of the Year jumping the only double clear and taking out first place.  The other three horses in the jump off all finished with four faults with time separating the placings.   Jamie’s second ride Seabreeze Celica was second followed by Robert Moffat’s It’s Ritchie in third & Clem’s second ride Noble Eros also on four faults placed fourth.  It was a great day out for Jamie.

  Our three final rounds are the World Cup classes again will attract double points.  Also this season we will run as per the Australian League with best of eight rounds to count.
